Can You Manifest Something ‘Bad’?
With the law of attraction, we’re manifesting all-day-every day, all kinds of things. They’re just a reflection of our thoughts, beliefs and actions. Something ‘bad’ is subjective, but yes, I believe we can manifest something bad — if our thoughts, beliefs and expectations match up and ‘unintentionally’ result in something unwanted.
About 15 years ago, a group of friends and I went on an after high school holiday — they call it ‘schoolies’ in Australia — and we had a few chats on behavior and general safety on a night out since we were in asia. But I remember there were a few talks about bombings and terrorist attacks and at the time I was nervous that talking about that might manifest it into our experience. I tried shutting down the topic as quickly as it was brought up! I absolutely didn’t want to entertain it.
Anything negative, dangerous, or frightening thoughts or discussions will likely evoke a strong emotional reaction (especially if you’re highly sensitive or an empath). And it’s these strong emotions — although unwanted — that are very powerful.
Looking back now, I was overreacting — I believe it takes a fair amount of persistent thoughts and emotions on an unwanted topic or something bad in order for it to come into our lives. So take some relief there: A few talks about [insert unwanted thing] will not manifest [insert unwanted thing here] regardless of the emotional reaction it provokes because it contradicts with our greater desires.
The universe knows what we want. I also believe we have a predominant bubble of wellbeing around us. And a dominant desire of what we want to be safe and well throughout our lives.
But if you don’t want it in your experience, than you do need to stop thinking about it; take your attention away from it and any synchronicities will dissapear. Take any precausions you need too, set a plan, and then set it and forget it. Why not adopt louise hay’s affirmation “all is well in my world.”
I also want you to know that if you feel you have already ‘manifested something bad’ — as in something out of your control, that has deeply affected you — it’s most likely not your fault. And I would encourage you to speak to a professional therapist or counselor about this.
I once had something happen, and at the time it was very hard to consolidate it because I kept thinking; “on some level, did I attract this?” — it was only by speaking to a counselor that I was able to rectify this conflict with my belief in the law of attraction and helped me start the process of healing.
