“Don’t be afraid about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.” – Jack Canfeild
Have you ever wanted to achieve something and felt as though life just wasn’t giving you the push you needed? Setting goals is a popular way to help us focus on accomplishing our dreams, but sometimes it’s difficult to stay motivated when we can’t visualize our progress. That’s where a vision board comes in.
Vision boards (also known as manifesting boards) are a powerful way to set your goals and stay focused on the path to accomplish them. But creating a vision board is more than just cutting out pictures and pasting them on a board; it involves a manifesting technique that can help us make our goals come to life.
In this article, we’ll discuss what a vision board is, the manifesting technique behind it, and then provide a step-by-step guide on how to create your own vision board. Follow along as we talk about how vision board goal setting can help you achieve success.
From Vision to Reality
A vision board is a tool used to help you focus on and achieve your goals. The idea behind vision boards is that they give you a tangible, visual representation of what your goal looks like, which can be incredibly motivating and inspiring. By creating a vision board, you’re encouraging yourself to take action and stay motivated and focused on achieving your desired outcome.
Vision board goal setting is a popular tool that is frequently used in the world of personal development, career growth, and entrepreneurial endeavors. By creating a vision board, you’re helping to focus your energy and attention on one central goal or vision. Additionally, your law of attraction vision board serves as a constant reminder of your goals that you intend to bring into your life.
So, what should you include on your vision board? I would say, it would be great to incorporate a mixture of words and images that capture the essence of your goal. This could include photo, magazine clippings, printed pinterest images, quotes, affirmations, etc. Try to visually capture your dreams in a visual format by creating a roadmap for yourself to follow!
It is important to note that vision boards should not be static. As you evolve, your dreams and goals may also change. For this reason, it is important to periodically review your vision board and update it as necessary. As you get closer to achieving your goal, your vision board should also evolve to celebrate these accomplishments and focus on the next step.
Transform Your Life with Vision Board Goal Setting: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Dream & Set Your Intentions
Before creating a vision board to set goals, it is important to first picture what you would like to achieve in the future. As you create your vision board, you should think about the overall goal that you are working towards. Think about the person you want to become, the places you want to travel to, the career you want to have, and the lifestyle you desire. This will help you to create a vision board that reflects your goals and serves as a roadmap towards achieving them.
Sometimes we know exactly what we want:
Consider what you’d love to be, do or have?
What would be a game-changer? Could it be an experience, a lifestyle change, an item you’ve always wanted, or simply a state of being and feeling?
Sometimes we do know what we want… but we deny it.
Push it down because we don’t know how to get it, don’t feel worthy of it, or just don’t want to get excited only to be disappointed if it doesn’t come about.
And Sometimes, we honestly don’t know what we want.
Maybe our needs haven’t been first in line for a long time, or because we haven’t given ourselves the chance to consider what we even want, or we just haven’t imagined anything other than our current reality, and we’re out of inspiration.
If you’re not sure about what you want, or you’re just out of inspiration, the Soul Spark guided process is a beautiful way to help you define your desires.
Step 2: Gather Your Supplies !
Once you’ve decided what you’d love to create in your life, the run begins! Creating a vision board is a fun way to focus on your goals. It doesn’t require special tools, just a few supplies you might alreay have:
- Large piece of foam core board
- Magazines, newspapers, or other printed images
- Scissors
- Markers
- Glue
- Glitter (optional !)
Once you have your supplies, you can start building your personalized vision board. Having your supplies ready ahead of time will make the process smoother and more enjoyable.
Step 3: Choose Visuals That Represent Your Goals
Once you have brainstormed your goals and chosen the right location for your vision board, it is time to choose visuals that represent your goals. When selecting visuals for your vision board, keep in mind that it will act as a visual reminder of the things that you wish to achieve. To make your vision board a powerful goal-setting tool, choose visuals that evoke strong emotions when looked at. This could include images of the things you want, quotes that inspire you, and even symbols that remind you of your goals. You might like to include visuals that represent the steps you must take to reach your goal.
When creating your vision board, remember that it is up to you to choose visuals that will help move you towards your goal. Also, really consider if you want that thing. I’ve created vision boards only to realise I didn’t actually want it when it started showing up in my life. Like they say, be careful what you wish for.
“There isn’t anything that anyone wants, whether it’s a material object, or a relationship, a or a pile of money, or a circumstance or an event that is for any other reason then they believe they would feel better in the having of it.” – Abraham Hicks
Step 4: Get Creative
Once you have all the items you would like to include in your vision board, it’s time to glue them onto the board. Begin by mapping out a blueprint of the vision board. Determine where you want each item placed so that the overall goal setting vision is represented as a whole.
When all the visuals are glued onto the board, it’s time to step back and evaluate if you like how your vision board looks and if it effectively communicates your goal setting intentions. If not, adjust visuals and rearrange to achieve your desired outcome.
Step 5: Display Your Vision Board
Now that you have created your vision board, it’s time to hang it up in a place where you can see it every day. Whether you choose to hang it on your wall, set it up on your desk or even keep it in a portable format that you can move from place to place, the goal is to keep your vision board visible so that it continues to inspire and remind you of your goals. When you place your vision board in a visible spot, you will be able to look at it every day and be reminded of your goals, helping you stay motivated and on track.
